After 34 years composing and publishing acclaimed educational/leisure music for all popular instruments, Kerin Bailey has finally released a CD showcasing his abilities as a jazz pianist. In partnership with legendary Adelaide saxophonist Bob Jeffery, Body and Soul is a collection of 13 great jazz standards receiving tasteful, swinging, easy listening treatment. A judicious mix of five duo and eight quartet numbers ranging from ballads to up-tempo swing and Latin allow Kerin and Bob to demonstrate their versatility and technique to the fullest.
Bob Jeffery was inducted into the South Australian Hall of Fame as Jazz Sax Master in 2015 – justifiable reward for his nearly 60 years entertaining listeners with his formidable improvising skills. He and Kerin have been working together casually for 45 years, building an empathy which shines through on this CD.
